Who Can Get Falls County Birth Records

Texas restricts certified copies of birth certificates under 75 years old to qualified applicants. Under Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 191, qualified applicants include the registrant (if 18 or older), a parent, a sibling, a child, a spouse, a grandparent, or a legal guardian or representative with proof.

A valid driver's license or state ID is required for all applicants. If only the mother is on the birth record, access may be more limited. Legal representatives must bring documentation proving their legal authority to act on behalf of the registrant.

Records 75 years or older are public. Anyone can request copies of those older certificates without demonstrating a family relationship.
