Bosque County Birth Record Contents
A Texas long-form birth certificate includes the child's complete legal name, date and time of birth, hospital or location of birth, both parents' full names and ages, parents' birthplaces, and the attending physician's or midwife's signature. This is the required version for passports, government IDs, and Social Security enrollment.
The short-form birth certificate is a summary labeled as informational and not valid for identity verification. It is fine for school enrollment and many everyday uses. If you are getting any form of government ID, order the long-form version.
Bosque County birth records go back to 1903. Older records from the early part of the 20th century may be handwritten or incomplete. The Texas State Library and Archives at tsl.texas.gov has resources for genealogy research on older Texas vital records.
